Three Things Thursday!

Whoa! Where have I been?  Hibernating...it's too cold outside!

Anyway, just for a short update, I thought I'd do a Three Things Thursday to fill you all in on what's going on in my world!

1. This is "old" news for those that I'm friends with on facebook or that follow my page but...for those that don't... I'm engaged!  Yay!!

I had to get it sized though so I've been without it for almost 2 weeks. Luckily, they called me today and I'm getting it back! I'm really excited to be engaged to the love of my life which I never thought would happen!

2. I re-joined weight watchers. For those that have long time followers, I originally lost 90 lbs on weight watchers back from 2007-2010 and hit my goal weight (according to their system).  Hello marathons, dating, and several other excuses and I put back on 30-40 lbs. I've tried several different tracking systems and clean eating methods, etc... and nothing ever stuck.

Finally, with the proper motivation (to look awesome in my wedding dress), I re-joined weight watchers 2 weeks ago and have been doing very well.  Before you get all on my case about weight not really mattering and I should be happy with my body... I am. Mostly. BUT... I know I've gotten into some unhealthy habits that I need to change. My running is harder, clothes don't fit, and on and on.  So my goal is to be HEALTHY. Not just a number on the scale. Plus, I want to like the way I look in my wedding photos. Let's be honest. Who doesn't.

3.  I have several giveaways I've been procrastinating on since I've slacked on blogging (plus I was on vacation, my computer is making things hard on me in the blogging front, and I was in the hospital.. I'm ok by the way). So I hope to get one of my giveaways out this weekend! Stay tuned!

Tomorrow is happy Friday! Enjoy your weekend!

  4. Welcome back and CONGRATULATIONS, Amanda!!! SO HAPPY FOR YOU TWO!!!

Yay for Weight Watchers! I've been a member for a year and a half and it has made SUCH a difference in keeping myself accountable for my dietary habits. If you ever want to talk about WW stuff, let me know. BTW - I have a Weight Watchers Activity Tracker that I won in a raffle - if you could use it, let me know!

Can't wait for you to share your giveaways!

    1. Thanks! I don't think I need the activity tracker since I just use the app anyway but I didn't know you were a WW member! I might have to hit you up for a few good favorite recipes!

  5. Aww yay! Congrats!

And good for you for joining Weight Watchers again! As for the whole "being happy with your body" thing--I think you can appreciate your body at any size and weight and still want to want to change it! And that's okay! I think very few people can really claim to be happy with their body 100% of the time anyways! Plus I like that you can admit you want to look good on your wedding day! I wanted to look good too! Who doesn't?! And yes, being healthy is key!

  7. Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog today - it's funny because my Mom told me just this morning that she gets to "know" how I am feeling through the blog vs. in person - it's just so hard to talk about my husband without bringing tears to my eyes, so I just don't bring it up. I am sure people around me are thinking "she doesn't even seem upset that her husband died?!" But my public and private faces are completely different.

On a happy note, I am SO happy you got engaged, loved seeing it on Facebook and I know you will be a beautiful bride! I hope we can plan to meet sometime this summer - I've always wanted to go to the Green Street Market - that could be fun!

    1. Aw thank you Biz! And I totally understand the "public and private face" thing. I think it's a normal way to be. Hugs!
