But you know how it goes, I want to...
The next thing I'm excited about is to be able to offer a FREE RACE ENTRY to one of my readers! That's right! The race organizers are providing me with a free entry so that YOU have a chance to run this race also! And if you aren't up for the half marathon distance right now or would just prefer, you can sign up for the 5k!
RACE INFO
Date: Saturday, June 7, 2014
Time: 7:00 AM
Location: South Shore Cultural Center (7059 S. Shore Drive, Chicago, IL)
For more information, you can visit their website: http://www.131marathon.com/chicago/
Also like I said in my last post, the race has a nice out and back course which finishes along the beach! The out and back course provides great opportunities to see your friends running along the course! It also lets you know how truly far behind the elites you are...which is kind of fun!
Post race beer and pizza is a definite plus (and must)!
The race benefits the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America. You can find out more information here.

Marathon is my favorite distance. Can't beat the crowd noise!
ReplyDeleteI love the half distance - enough to challenge yourself without killing yourself.
ReplyDeleteAnd heeyyyyy shirtless Kelly, How you doin'?
She's doing fiiiine! Running a full tomorrow don't ya know! :)
DeleteI enjoy running the distance required to retrieve cupcakes. So long as it is downhill and I have a wind at my back. That or the distance between me and cookies. I get a lot of satisfaction in thinking that way.
ReplyDeleteBest comment ever!
DeleteLooks like a great time!
ReplyDeleteMy actual favorite is the half marathon. It's just a great still hard for me goal to achieve!
ReplyDeleteAlso liked your page under Michel Martin
ReplyDeleteThe half marathon is my favorite. It's long enough to keep my training in check and to challenge me, but not so long that I need to recover for several days following like a marathon.
ReplyDeleteI also liked your facebook page under name Deb Young Hypke!
ReplyDelete10 miler! Challenging race distance without the wall :)
ReplyDeleteI really like half-marathons. It's a long enough distance that requires a focused training plan, but not too long to be intimidating. And, I just really love getting that race bling! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite race distance is definitely the half marathon :) 13.1 miles of fun!!
ReplyDeleteI also have liked your Facebook page for many years now! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite distance is the half. I haven't run a full, but I don't think that would be my favorite lol.
ReplyDeleteLiked your Facebook page. Same name as on here.
ReplyDeleteI like 5k's. Short but fun, I especially like them when I run with friends who want to run their first 5k
ReplyDeleteI'm a freak who likes the ultra distance the best. Hooray for running lots and lots of miles.
ReplyDeleteI so much like the marathon distance the best! It's crazy but for me so much easier than the half LOL
ReplyDeleteLove being able to zone out listen to my music, read the awesome signs and enjoy the run!! :)
DeleteI liked your FB page a while ago :)
ReplyDeleteShared on FB on my status!! :)
ReplyDeleteMarathon is my favorite distance. I love the challenge.
ReplyDeleteAnd I shared on FB.
ReplyDeleteAnd I liked your page.
ReplyDeleteBig fan of the 5k myself. Enjoy racing the shorter distances and love the variety of local races to choose from too!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I liked your FB page a while back because you rock lady ;)
ReplyDelete10K because you don't have to go so fast that you cough up a lung at the end, but it only takes about an hour of your morning to run the race. I have also metaled in more 10K's than any other distance...
ReplyDeleteGiven I have run more half marathons than any other distance, I guess that would have to make it my favourite.
ReplyDeleteI love the half marathon. I've been gunning for a sub-2 for awhile.
ReplyDeleteI love the half marathon, but I'm going for my first full this fall!
ReplyDeleteI like the full so I can eat anything I want the rest of the day and not feel guilty.

ReplyDeleteThe marathon--you can't fake thaat distance!
ReplyDeleteThe 10K is my favorite distance because it's definitely still a task to do, but it's short enough to where I feel like I can really, truly, RACE! It's short enough to get some speed going going without burning out, but still feel totally accomplished when it's done!
ReplyDeleteI liked your FB page! I love this giveaway! I've been wanting to do this half marathon for so long!
ReplyDeleteAnd shared this on Facebook! I really really want to win! Here is the link! Thanks so much for this giveaway! https://www.facebook.com/michwilli/posts/2363789614870?stream_ref=10
