Scared Straight!

I really hope you all enjoyed the Chicago pictures from my last post that Matt took while he was out here.  I think he's a great photographer, that's why I keep him around!

Had a run-in with the scale this morning.  It's not my official weigh in but I kind of wanted to see where I was at.  I knew it wouldn't be good.  Lots of sodium, lots of candy, lots of bread, lots...lots...lots...

Here is how the run-in with Mr. Scale went:  Stepped on scale, saw number, rolled eyes, vowed never to eat again!

I'm very frustrated at myself.  How can I gain this much weight so fast!  Just 4 short months ago, I was about 15 lbs lighter.  Really!

So that's the story of my life right now.  And I really would like to get a personal trainer.  Incredibly bad, but I can't see spending $50 per session for it!  What's a girl to do?

  1. Take it easy on yourself! I've actually gained 10-12 pounds since I started running and at first I freaked out but then I remembered that muscle weighs more than fat. Obviously don't stop eating! Maybe you need to focus a bit more on what you're eating? Try lean proteins, healthy snacks and drink water to hydrate. It's a long process but you will get where you want to be. Do you think you can afford a trainer every other week or once per month? That might help focus you if that's what your struggle is?

  2. That's a really good idea Mallory, about the trainer. I'm not renewing my gym membership in a few months though and was going to check out other gyms in the area. I was going to ask about their personal training too. Maybe I'll think about going that route.

It might help to get a regular work out partner. Someone to help hold you accountable? I know sometimes thats the only way I get stuff done!

  4. Just get back on track and don't do anything crazy. Good nutrition and exercise will have you back where you want to be in not time flat.

  5. I love the pictures Matt took!

Don't sweat 15 pounds - just be more mindful of portions, etc. Maybe only not track one day you are with Matt and the rest count your points?

I am going back to WW for the first time in three weeks tomorrow, so I am a bit nervous too - I took the excuse of my husband being sick that I couldn't "take time" to fix good food or exercise - how lame is that?!

    Hugs!

  6. Hang in there, Amanda! You know what to do and you can do it. Don't be frustrated with yourself; it's just a little detour!
