Mother's Day

Hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day. I'm not a mother but I do have one! :)

We were having dinner at my parent's house and my grandparents (mom's parents) were coming over. My Grandparents live up here in Chicago but spend half the year in Florida (during the winter). They just got back (lucky dogs!) so it was good to see them.

We had a beautiful Mother's Day. It was a little cool but it was nice and sunny. I started the day off with 1 hr 45 mins at the gym! Weights/abs class, then step aerobics class. Worked up a good sweat! Then wrote a paper for school. Then it was time to party! Ok, maybe not really party but whatever! The grandparents arrived! Check out the beautiful weather...

Ok, not the most flattering picture of my rear end in my saggy-butt jeans! lol. My grandparents came bearing gifts from FL! They are so sweet.

After some socializing, it was time to dig in. We had Lamb Osso Bucco and green beans. My dad makes the BEST Lamb Osso Bucco! It's by far one of my most favorite dishes.

It's served over yummy angel hair pasta. My mom is such a sweetheart and she bought multi-grain pasta instead of traditional white. Thanks mom! Uh, no pics of the green beans?

I made that low fat key lime pie (made with low fat graham cracker crust, 2 low fat key lime yogurts, FF Cool Whip, sugar free lime gelatin mix, 1/4 cup boiling water). My parents own a restaurant and they brought some of the delicious ice cream home from there too. It's probably the most fattening ice cream on the planet but totally worth it! So good!

Here are some pics of the family. Just don't tell my mom. She hates pictures of herself!

My grandparents, Dad, Mom, me and my monkey. Um...never mind! Just better not to even ask! Oh, and check out the shirt my mom is wearing. You can't really see the picture but it's her standard Mother's Day shirt dated back to probably the late 80's or early 90's! It's got a picture of my brother and I when my grandparents took us for pictures when we were kids. So cute! She wears it EVERY mother's day!

Ended the evening with finishing up my school paper. Then Mom and I took the dog for a walk. I was beat when I got home! Family time and over eating can be exhausting!
